Engine Help

I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Whenever I start the vehicle, it begins to rev up by its self. The mph goes up to 20! This happens on and off. When I get to a stop sign or red light, I have to step down on breaks as hard as I can to avoid the vehicle from sliding or moving. This is extremely dangerous. How can I fix this?

Young, Thoroughly clean out

Young,

Thoroughly clean out the throttle body, paying particularly close attention to the pivot points of the "Butterfly".

Confirm that the "Accelerator Pedal" is not getting stuck on any carpeting (and or) mats.

Thoroughly lubricate the accelerator cable.

Scans for "Error Codes" are FREE at Auto Zone. Have a scan done and post any error codes that are set so we can see them.

If you do ALL the above, and there are NO error codes, then see an ASE MASTER MECHANIC for a "PCM RE-FLASH".
